Tavyaan
Your data, in plain English.
We say what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
This notice is written for the human reading it, not for a clause library. The legal substance underneath is UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
01 · Who we are
Tavyaan Limited is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. We are a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17147085, with our registered office at Westgate Chambers, 8a Elm Park Road, Pinner, Middlesex, HA5 3LA, United Kingdom.
The simplest way to reach us about anything in this notice — including any of the rights set out in section 06 — is enquiry@tavyaan.com. A founder will respond.
02 · What we collect, and why
We only collect what we need to do the work in front of us. There are three small surfaces:
- The enquiry form
- When you submit the “Get in touch” form on this site, we collect your name, work email, organisation, and optionally your role, your area of focus, your timeline, and anything you choose to write in the message field. We use it to respond to your enquiry and to keep the conversation going if one starts. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) — corresponding with someone who has asked us to.
- Direct email
- If you email enquiry@tavyaan.com, careers@tavyaan.com, or any other Tavyaan address, your message and contact details sit in our inbox. Same lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- Functional browser storage
- The site uses your browser’s localStorage to remember small preferences — theme (light or dark), the visual tweaks panel, and one or two ephemeral UI flags. No identifier, no analytics, no advertising. This is strictly-necessary storage under PECR and does not need consent.
That is the complete list. We do not run analytics, advertising, retargeting, session-replay, heat-mapping, or social-media tracking on this site. No third-party scripts other than the web font service. If that ever changes, we will update this notice and tell you what changed.
03 · Who else sees it
The people who handle your data on our behalf are limited to the suppliers that make the site and our correspondence work:
| Processor | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Formspree, Inc. | Receives and forwards the enquiry form to our inbox | United States |
| Google Fonts | Serves the typefaces this page is set in | Global CDN |
| Our email provider | Holds messages sent to @tavyaan.com addresses | United Kingdom / European Economic Area |
Where personal data leaves the UK — principally to Formspree in the United States — the transfer is covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an equivalent UK-recognised mechanism. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for marketing.
04 · How long we keep it
Long enough to do the job, and no longer.
- Enquiry-form submissions and email correspondence: kept while the conversation is live, then archived for up to 24 months in case you come back to us, then deleted.
- Browser storage: stays on your device until you clear it. Nothing of it reaches us.
- Records we need for a legal reason (for example, contract drafts, invoices) are kept for the period the relevant law requires — typically six years for UK accounting records.
05 · Cookies, in one paragraph
This site does not set tracking cookies. It uses a small amount of functional browser storage to remember your preferences. We do not have an analytics product, an ad pixel, or a social-media tag on the page. Because of that, there is no cookie banner — under PECR, consent is not required for strictly-necessary storage, and we have nothing else to ask consent for.
06 · Your rights
UK GDPR gives you the following rights over your personal data. We will honour any of them, in writing, within one calendar month of you asking.
- Access
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification
- Ask us to correct anything that’s wrong.
- Erasure
- Ask us to delete it (“right to be forgotten”).
- Restriction
- Ask us to pause processing while a question is resolved.
- Objection
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Portability
- Ask for your data in a portable, machine-readable form.
To exercise any of these, write to enquiry@tavyaan.com with the subject line Data request. We may need to confirm you are who you say you are before we act.
If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you have the right to complain to the UK supervisory authority: the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF, United Kingdom — ico.org.uk. We would prefer you raised it with us first so we can put it right.
07 · Changes
If we change anything material in this notice, we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects how we use existing personal data, write to the people the change touches. Trivial edits (fixing a typo, tidying language) we just make.
For the rules governing your use of this site — copyright, acceptable use, liability and the like — see our Terms of use.
The standard is simple: only collect what we need, hold it as briefly as the work allows, tell you everything you might reasonably want to know.
If anything in this notice is unclear, ask us. We will rewrite it.
